Utility Assistance Guidelines -
Applicant must be a resident of Boyle County. Having a Danville address doesn’t make you a resident of Boyle County.
Cannot help if you have received assistance on a utility in the last 4-5 months or on rent in the last 6 months. Depending on the $ amount you have been assisted with and the total number of times you have been helped. We DO NOT provide ongoing assistance.
We CANNOT pay for deposits
We CANNOT pay a bill that is older than 12 months
We CANNOT pay an old bill from another county
The bill must be in your name. The bill must be past due. The bill must be at least $100
We CANNOT pay gas bills after the winter (April 1 – October 31).
During LIHEAP, you must have a written referral from BGCA to get help with your bill.
Documents Required
Photo ID for adults in the home
Socials and Dates of Birth for everyone in the household
Proof of income for the previous month: Includes but not limited to wages, unemployment, child support, KTAP, SSI/SS, family support, odd jobs/self-employment, and family/friends support.
If you have zero income, we will need your SNAP letter - typically food stamp approval; the letter must show benefits, household income, and household members OR a notarized statement of Zero Income, OR a notarized Statement of Self Employment

Housing Assistance Guidelines for Clients under 55
Must be a resident of Boyle County. Having a Danville address doesn’t make you a resident of Boyle County.
Must have a lease. If you don’t have a lease you will need a rental agreement. No subleases or rent to relatives.
If you are approved for assistance, your landlord will be required to complete and sign a Landlord Agreement. This form will be provided by FSA.
NO income-based housing. This includes Danville Housing Authority, Section 8, and income-based apartment units.
We CANNOT assist with rent if you have received any type of financial assistance from us within the last 6-month period. Even if that assistance was arranged by us through a church. We CANNOT PAY DEPOSITS and we CANNOT PAY FOR HOTEL STAYS.
Rent MUST BE PAST DUE or your FIRST MONTH’S rent.
